📋 TIER LIST METHODOLOGY

Coins are rated on three criteria: (1) Standalone Value — how much the coin contributes without specific synergy partners; (2) Build Flexibility — how many different run types benefit from the coin; (3) Scaling — how much stronger the coin gets with Item Chips and plating upgrades.

S-tier coins score highly on all three. A-tier coins excel at two of the three criteria. B-tier coins are strong in one area but limited elsewhere. C-tier coins are technically functional but consistently outperformed by higher-tier options in most practical run scenarios.

Note on animal coins: Rat Coin and Pig Coin are rated as standalone units. In dedicated Cat+Rat or Wolf+Pig builds, they perform significantly above their listed tier. Always evaluate coins in the context of your full build, not just their individual rating.

🔬 Biologist — Animal Sustain Build

Core coins: Cat Coin ×2 + Rat Coin ×3 + Seed Coin ×1. Cat/Rat loop sustains drop charges. Seed Coin generates passive gold. Buy Animal Bond and Lucky Wheel Token in shop round 1.

🔥 Pyro — Explosive Chain Build

Core coins: TNT Coin ×2 + Bomb Coin ×2 + Fire Coin ×2. Wait for 12+ coins, drop Bomb, stack 8 normals on top, trigger TNT via Fire chain. Buy Explosion Amplifier immediately — it is mandatory for Pyro.

Why is MultiCoin S-tier in RACCOIN? ▼

MultiCoin applies a score multiplier to every coin currently on or falling to the ledge simultaneously. When the board has 15+ coins, the multiplier can reach ×5.0. Combined with Score Multiplier chips, a single MultiCoin activation can score as much as an entire floor's worth of normal drops. Its universal value across all builds and characters makes it the defining S-tier coin.

Is Rainbow Coin always S-tier or situational? ▼

Rainbow Coin is S-tier in mid-to-late runs when powerful coins are already active. In the early game (floors 1–3), before strong coins are established, Rainbow Coin often transforms into a basic coin and wastes the drop. Its tier drops to A or even B in runs that haven't built a strong coin pool yet. Timing is everything with Rainbow Coin.

Why is Dice Coin only C-tier if it can roll S-tier effects? ▼

Dice Coin's C-tier rating reflects its default state without Lucky Gambler or Lucky Wheel Token investment. The 6 possible outcomes are random, and three of them are weak effects. In a run focused on Loaded Plating and Lucky Gambler's Lady Luck passive, Dice Coin can perform at A-tier — but it requires significant setup that other S/A tier coins don't need.

Should I avoid C-tier coins entirely? ▼

Not entirely. C-tier coins like Rat Coin and Pig Coin are deliberately low-tier alone but become A-tier within their respective synergy builds (Cat+Rat, Wolf+Pig). The tier list reflects standalone performance. In a dedicated animal coin build with Animal Bond chip, Rat Coin is arguably the most valuable coin in your pool — just not on its own.

How often does the tier list change with RACCOIN updates? ▼
